The music video game series Guitar Hero is one of the most entertaining musical video games available. The guitar controllers used to play the games in the series allow the player to play lead, rhythm or bass guitar along with popular songs by a wide range of artists. Players use the colored buttons on the guitar controller fret board to play the notes that scroll on the screen with many added effects such as a whammy bar and actions such as hammer ons and pull off to simulate real guitar play.

Most of the games offer a single player and two player mode where players can play alongside one another, each playing one of the guitar styles in the song. The single player mode allows career advancement, unlocking new songs and new guitar gear along the way. The release of Wii Sports Resort can be seen as a platform for showing the uses of the new Motion Plus. Motion Plus is a new devise that is attached to the Wii Remote, it increases the motion sensitive capabilities of the remote. Examples of this are, by twisting or turning the remote when you are about to hit a table Tennis ball or the Bowling ball you will put spin on your shot, therefore changing the path of the ball. This is useful in Bowling for getting around obstacles in one of the games and it has many other uses also and gives the game a more realistic feel to it.
